Made in response to the redevelopment of the Ballymun area of North Dublin, it explores the optimism of the urban regeneration project and the ephemerality of the boom.

Residents of the rapidly changing urban district were gathered to participate in a series of tableaux where clear, helium filled balloons, piles of building materials and a suited "Master of Ceremonies" lead them to persistently applaud. In a manner that suggests a coercive ritual of "true belief', it displays the necessity of hope as a kind of compulsory component of the build and renewal of the area.

In the installation, screen one shows the procession and ritual of applause, while screen two depicts a series of un-peopled shots of gently floating balloons attached to a variety of building materials - indicative of a celebration to come, or one that has passed.
